50-year-old pedestrian killed in collision in Fresno. Police say vehicle left the scene

A pedestrian was killed early Sunday morning when he was struck by a vehicle in Fresno.

The deadly collision happened at 2 a.m. on First Street, just south of Gettysburg Avenue.

Fresno Police Lt. Zeb Price said the 50-year-old man was in the roadway when a vehicle collided with him.

The man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he died, Price said.

The vehicle fled from the scene.

Officers were canvassing for surveillance video.

It’s unknown what type of vehicle was involved in the hit-and-run, Price said.

The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit were on scene to investigate the collision.
