Man is shot in Fresno neighborhood, then crashes into parked car, deputies say
A man is in the hospital Saturday morning after he was shot in a southeast Fresno neighborhood.
The Fresno Police Department was the agency that initially responded just before 8 a.m. to Garden and White avenues. Officers said they found a white vehicle that had rear-ended a parked vehicle.
The man, in his mid-30s, was shot in the upper body and taken to a local hospital. He was in surgery and listed in stable condition.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office took over the investigation since the incident happened in a county pocket.
Sheriff’s Lt. Frances Devins said the Police Department’s ShotSpotter electronic activation indicated that there were shots fired in the vicinity before the crash, but deputies are investigating to determine if they are related.
The motive for the shooting is unknown and deputies don’t have a suspect description.
