Man leads deputies on chase along Fresno highway. He crashed by a drainage area

A motorcyclist is in a Fresno hospital after leading deputies on a pursuit before crashing near a highway off-ramp.

The incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday. The motorcyclist was traveling at least 90 mph on southbound Highway 41 at Ashlan Avenue before crashing along the highway at McKinley Avenue. He had slowed and was trying to take the off-ramp but ran off the road and into a drainage area, deputies said.

The 48-year-old man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. His condition is unknown.

Deputies proxy booked the suspect at CRMC on suspicion of felony evading and DUI and warrants.
