A bicyclist was injured Friday night in a hit-and-run collision in the Tower District in Fresno.

The collision happened at 6 p.m. at Olive and Van Ness avenues.

Fresno police Lt. Leslie Williams said the bicyclist was riding westbound on Olive when he crossed the roadway from north to south outside of an intersection or a crosswalk area.

A vehicle struck the bicyclist, knocking him to the ground.

He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

Police are looking for a gray SUV that left the area after the collision, Williams said.
