Man injured in a stabbing in Fresno, police say. He went to a store to call for help

A man is in the hospital after he was stabbed Friday night in Fresno.

Fresno Police Lt. Henry Garcia III said the stabbing happened at 9:49 p.m. in the 2300 block South Maple Avenue, near Church Avenue.

Officers arrived and located the man in the parking lot of a liquor store suffering from multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to a local hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition, Garcia said.

Police are investigating the stabbing, but Garcia said they are looking for two possible suspects. who fled in a vehicle.

Garcia said the victim was unconscious when he got to the hospital.

He added that after the victim was stabbed, he went to the liquor store and called 911.
