Man’s homicide near Fresno County park under investigation, deputies say. Worker found him

UPDATE: Man found injured at Fresno County park who died was the camp host, sheriff says

ORIGINAL STORY: Few details were immediately available Thursday morning as Fresno County Sheriff’s Office detectives investigated the scene where a man was killed.

A utility worker reported seeing an injured man about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday near Piedra and Elwood roads south of Winton Park, spokesperson Tony Botti said.

Emergency responders found the man and attempted life-saving efforts, but he died at Community Regional Medical Center, Botti said.

Detectives were withholding details surrounding the man’s homicide, Botti said, and were looking into his identity as well as for his family. The homicide investigation was ongoing.
