Woman killed walking on Madera road. CHP seeks help finding hit-and-run driver
The California Highway Patrol is asking for help finding the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that resulted in the death of a pedestrian early Saturday in Madera.
The incident took place just before 1 a.m. as the female victim was walking north on the east side of Road 26 north of Mateo Way.
A driver northbound on 26 veered to the right and struck the woman, who had not been identified as of Tuesday afternoon.
After the collision, the driver continued driving north without stopping to render aid or contacting authorities, the CHP reported. The victim was discovered by a passerby who called 911 about 7:30 a.m.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contract the Madera office of the CHP at 559-507-8120.
