Federal agents arrest man sought in slayings of two Madera men

Madera County Sheriff’s deputies Monday reported the arrest of a man sought in the killing of a father and son early Sunday.

Francisco Trejo Ramirez, 51, was taken into custody Sunday night by federal agents while attempting to enter Mexico, officials said. Ramirez was wanted in the fatal shootings of Jesus Gil, 33, and his father, Jesus Gil Espinoza, 60, and the wounding of a male juvenile that happened at about 4 a.m. Sunday in the 23000 block of Avenue 9 and the 23000 block of Las Palmas.

On Monday, deputies went to an undisclosed arrest location to bring Ramirez back to Madera County.
