Madera deputies hunt suspect after two killed, one wounded. He is ‘armed and dangerous’

Police crime scene tape at a nighttime emergency.

A father and son were shot and killed and another person was wounded early Sunday in Madera County, and sheriff’s deputies were searching for the suspect.

The shootings took place about 4 a.m. in the 23000 block of Avenue 9 and the 23000 block of Las Palmas, with deputies arriving to find multiple victims, Madera County sheriff’s spokeswoman Kayla Gates said.

The father and son died at the scene and the third person was rushed to a hospital.

Gates identified the suspect as Francisco Trejo Ramirez, 51, who is considered “armed and dangerous.”

Ramirez is believed to be driving a 2007 silver Toyota Tacoma pickup, with California license plate 80760B2. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911. He was reported to be an acquaintance of the victims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 559-675-7770 or 559-498-7867.
