Teens in stolen car ram Visalia cop car, police say. They’re suspected of armed robbery

Four teens were arrested in Visalia on Tuesday after police said they purposely rammed an officer’s cruiser head-on.

An officer found a Kia about 4 a.m. that had been reported stolen and attempted to stop the car, which carried the teens, police said.

The driver drove head-on into the cop car, police said. The officer was not hurt.

The four teenagers then fled on foot, Visalia police said. Officers found and arrested 14-, 15- and 17-year-old boys, as well as an 18-year-old man.

Police said they also found guns and other evidence in the area.

Truck stop robbery in Pixley connected, sheriff says

In an update from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office about 11 a.m., deputies said the teens were suspected of one and possibly more than one robbery.

A truck stop on Court Avenue in Pixley reported it was robbed about 2:25 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.

Three suspects walked into the store armed with guns and demanded money, deputies said. No one was hurt.
