Pedestrian struck by a vehicle on a Fresno roadway. The driver was arrested

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on a Fresno roadway Tuesday evening.

Officers with the Fresno Police Department responded to the collision at 9:15 p.m. at B Street and San Joaquin Street.

Officers found the pedestrian on the roadway with serious injuries. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.

Fresno Police Lt. Robert Dewey said the driver left the scene, but returned immediately with family to assist in translation.

Dewey said the driver was cooperative, but is accused of being under the influence of alcohol.

The driver was arrested for DUI.
