Woman found shot to death overnight in Fresno, police say. Detectives working scene

Detectives were investigating the scene Wednesday morning where a woman was found shot to death in Fresno, police said.

Officers found the woman near Tyler Avenue and Bond Street, which is southeast of First and Olive avenues, after a call to 911 around 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega said.

The name of the victim and any description on an alleged shooter were not immediately available.

The deadly violence marks the 12th intentional homicide so far this year compared to 22 the same time last year.

It’s the second killing by gun violence this week. Police said 39-year-old Paul Fierro was shot to death Sunday following an argument with a man still sought by detectives.
