Gunfight in Fresno neighborhood. An hour later, one of the shooters shows up at hospital

Fresno Police

A shootout between two people Saturday afternoon in southeast Fresno ended with one of them in the hospital.

Officers responded to a call of multiple shots fired around 2:41 p.m. at Eugenia Avenue and Rogers Lane, Fresno Police Lt. Skye Leibee said.

Officers contacted a 42-year-old resident, whose vehicle apparently had been struck by gunfire.

Then an hour later, a 45-year-old man arrived at a local hospital suffering from a single wound to the left wrist.

Leibee said officers were able to determine the resident on Eugenia had engaged in a gunfight with the victim at the hospital.

The shooting remains under investigation.

But police detained the resident and recovered a gun.

The man at the hospital was listed in stable condition.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call police at 559-621-7000.
