The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has formally charged the man they believe is responsible for the death of Frank Moore.

The 78-year-old was assaulted during a robbery in the parking lot of a store in Clovis in late December.

He died in the hospital Jan. 11.

Joseph Wright was arrested at the time of the assault and was in possession of Moore’s cell phone when he was taken into custody Dec. 30.

The 37-year-old was charged with one count of homicide in a preliminary hearing in Superior Court on Monday.

He remains in custody at Fresno County Jail, according to Clovis police.
