Man run over, killed after taco stand dispute identified by Fresno coroner

A man killed after an argument at a taco stand in southeast Fresno on Friday night was identified Monday by the Fresno County Coroner as Robert Silva, 57, of Fresno.

Fresno police spokeswoman Diana Trueba Vega on Monday said the incident remains under investigation, and the other man involved in the dispute has not been charged. He was not identified.

The incident took place after a confrontation between the second man and Silva on Sixth Street just north of Ventura Avenue about 7:30 p.m.

A physical altercation between the men, who police believed did not know one another, spilled into the street. The first man stepped into his car and began burning donuts, according to police. The car struck Silva who was pinned under the vehicle and freed by firefighters, but died at the scene.
