Update: Man shot to death in Fresno. Police say more than 20 rounds were fired

Police investigated the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man in central Fresno on Wednesday morning.

Not many details on the homicide were immediately available, but police confirmed the man was killed on Holland Avenue east of Fresno Street in the neighborhood north of Ashlan Avenue before 5 a.m.

Police were notified of more than 20 rounds fired in two separate ShotSpotter alerts Wednesday, according to Sgt. Diana Trueba Vega. The first notification caught 18 rounds of gunfire, she said.

Emergency responders took the victim to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 5 a.m., she said.

Police were canvassing the area for witnesses and video, Trueba Vega said.
