Fresno salon manager arrested on child pornography charges in Madera County

A Madera man, who is the regional manager of several high-end salons in Fresno, was arrested this week on child pornography charges.

Michael Diaz, 33, was booked into the Madera County jail on Tuesday for felony possession and distribution of child sexual abuse imagery. He was released the same day on a $50,000 bond.

Diaz works as a regional manager of Sola Salon Studios. The company has several locations in the Fresno area, including Fig Garden Village, Fort Washington and River Park.

District Attorney Sally O. Moreno said her department is currently reviewing the case to determine what, if any, charges it will file against Diaz.

Authorities became aware of Diaz after a tip came into the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, said Lt. Brandon Pursell, with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

The task force is made up of federal and local law enforcement agencies in nine regional counties.

Diaz could not be reached for comment Friday.
