Sheriff’s detectives investigate after body found in crashed vehicle near Selma
Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives investigated a possible homicide after a body was found in a crashed car early Wednesday morning.
Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said Selma police arrived at the scene first, on McCall Avenue north of Mountain View Avenue at around 2 a.m. and found a 2002 Toyota Corolla disabled in a ditch. A man, identified as 61-year-old Tracey Chance, dead inside of the vehicle.
Investigators do not believe the man died from a vehicle crash.
The Selma Police Department turned the incident over the the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office Wednesday afternoon said Chance was known to sleep in his car and often parked in the area where he was found.
Detectives have not determined any persons of interest or motives.
