2 dead, 4 shot as gunfire erupts in 2 Fresno neighborhoods. Police search for 5th victim

Two people were shot to death and two others wounded in separate gun violence incidents Wednesday, Fresno police reported. Police were also seeking a possible fifth victim.

The first incident took place about 11 a.m. at North Madison and East Maple avenues in southeast Fresno, where Sgt Paul Cervantes said someone in a dark sedan shot two people in the southeast neighborhood.

Cervantes said it was possible that there was a third victim in the shooter’s car and there could have been an exchange of fire. One of the victims died at a hospital. The second was in critical condition.

The man was identified as 47-year-old Jim Seidle of Fresno.

About two hours later, two people were shot at East McKinley Avenue and Second Street, said Sgt. Jeff La Blue. One of the victims died of his wounds and the second was hospitalized.

The victim was identified as Demarko White, 29, of Fresno.

La Blue, commenting on the first incident at Madison and Maple, said investigators believe there was a disturbance proceeding the shooting.
