Two wounded while attending vigil in Fresno. Multiple gunshots fired
A vigil for a recently deceased person ended in gunfire and two people were wounded early Monday in southwest Fresno, police reported.
Sgt. Jeff La Blue said police arrived in the area of South Tupman Street and East George Avenue shortly after midnight after the department’s ShotSpotter system recorded multiple gunshots. Officers found numerous shell casings in the street, and bullet holes in nearby cars. Officers also learned that two victims had been taken to Community Regional Medical Center. One suffered a superficial face wound and the second was struck in the torso. Both victims were in stable condition.
