Fresno family celebrating kid’s birthday attacked, police say. Shooters sought

Three people were wounded in a drive-by shooting Wednesday evening at a children’s birthday party in southwest Fresno, police said.

The attack happened around 9 p.m. at a large family gathering in front of an apartment complex at Kern Street and Pottle Avenue, Lt. Bill Dooley said.

Dooley said one of the victims, a man, was in critical condition at Community Regional Medical Center. The other two victims, a man and a woman, each suffered non-life threatening wounds.

Witnesses told officers the shots came from a dark-colored vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fresno police at 559-621-7000.
