Two victims of ARCO parking lot shooting in Fresno are identified

Fresno police are looking for a shooter who stalked his victims in a parking lot early Friday morning, killing two men and wounding a woman.

The men were identified as Robert Lockhart and John Ellis, both 27-years-old from Fresno.

The shooting happened after 3 a.m. at the ARCO gas station on Parkway Drive near Highway 99 and Olive Avenue.

Lt. Jeff Bowlan said six to 10 people were standing in the parking lot when the gunman approached them with a handgun and started firing at the group.

The victims ducked and got behind cars, but the suspect kept shooting, striking the two men and woman.

Officers arrived and found two men in their late 20s and a woman in her late 40s with gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The men were pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and was listed in stable condition at midday Friday.

The suspect, described to be wearing dark clothing with a mask, fled north from the parking lot, Bowlan said.

“The history we do have on the two males, it does indicate they have relations to gangs,” Bowlan said. “We are considering this gang-related. We don’t know if it’s gang motive. That’s been yet to be determined.”

The homicides is the 13th and 14th in Fresno in 2020.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Fresno police detectives at 559-621-2421 or 559-621-2452.
