Sanger police on Tuesday asked for help solving the city’s first homicide of the year after a 30-year-old man was shot to death.
Officers found the victim at 4th and O streets suffering from gunshot wounds about 7 p.m. Monday and rendered aid but were unable to keep him from succumbing to his injuries, according to Sgt. Joshua Johnson.
The victim was identified Tuesday by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Jairo Estrada of Sanger.
He has gang affiliations and the homicide is suspected to be gang-related, Johnson said.
