Suspect in truck steals dozens of iPads from Fresno County school. Do you recognize him?

An unknown man stole dozens of iPads and other items from an elementary school in rural Fresno County.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect who burglarized Fairmont Elementary School in Sanger shortly after 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Surveillance cameras show the suspect left the school in a black, mid-2000s extended cab Chevrolet Silverado. The man was wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt.

“He broke into two classrooms and took two mobile carts, which contained 47 iPads, cases and headphones,” sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said. “He loaded the items into the bed of his truck and drove away. The estimated loss is $37,000.”

Anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle involved is asked to contact Detective Tim Jacobsen at 559-600-8709, or Valley Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867 or valleycrimestoppers.org, where tips can be made anonymously and may be eligible for a cash reward.
