Madera County supervisor candidate booked on DUI, hit-and-run after crash into house
A candidate for Madera County Supervisor was booked on charges of hit-and-run and driving under the influence early Wednesday after he crashed into a house on Avenue 12, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash took place shortly after 1 a.m. near Loren Way. Deputies with the Madera County Sheriff’s Office alerted the CHP to the crash.
Eddie Block, identified in the CHP report as Henrik Edward Block, 43, is a candidate for the District 4 supervisor position, the CHP confirmed. He reportedly fled the scene but was found nearby by an arriving officer.
Block’s truck struck mailboxes before hitting the home.
The CHP said he was booked into the Madera County correction facility on misdemeanor charges because no one was injured in the crash.
Efforts to reach Block for comment were unsuccessful.
