Driver who allegedly struck and killed a man in a wheelchair is arrested, cops say

UPDATE: A man was arrested Tuesday evening and taken into custody for questioning. Police aren’t releasing the man’s name at this time.

Fresno police are asking for help finding a four-wheel-drive pickup involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a victim in a wheelchair Friday evening west of Highway 99.

The collision took place about 6:20 p.m. on Brawley Avenue south of Weldon Avenue. The truck is white, with an extended cab, and is believed to be either a Chevrolet or a GMC. It has oversize off-road tires and aftermarket wheels. Police believe it has damage to its right front area.
