Tulare County mom arrested for allegedly making false report in kidnapping
A Tulare County woman has bee arrested for making a false police report after accusing her ex-husband of kidnapping their children.
In addition to the false report charge, Julisa Perez Zendejas was arrested on an unrelated misdemeanor warrant, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.
On Saturday, deputies were called to the Poplar area for a possible child abduction. Zendejas told officers that her ex-husband, Christian Jaime, had taken their two children without her consent, in violation of a court order, to Southern California.
Officers with the Brawley Police Department soon located Jaime, along with both children. Detectives then determined the children had not been taken by force and had been living with Jamie for several months, in violation of the court order.
Child Welfare Services in both Tulare County and Imperial County were notified of the incident and will be following up.
Detectives will also be submitting a criminal complaint against Jaime for violation of a court order.
