One dead after triple shooting at Fowler house party, Fresno sheriff’s officials say
A man was killed early Sunday morning after gunshots broke out at a house party in Fowler, striking three people.
All three who were shot were taken to a Fresno hospital, where one later died, according to Fresno County Sheriff’s Lt. John Reynolds.
Two other injured men were recovering from gunshots at the hospital. All three men were in their late teens to early 20s, according to the Sheriff’s Office news release. The man who died was identified Monday by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office as Lee Major III, 20, of Fresno.
Reynolds said Fresno deputies took over the investigation at the request of Fowler police, who called the Sheriff’s Office around 2 a.m.
According to information released late Sunday morning, the shooting took place during a party at a home near Sixth Street and Adams Avenue that appeared to be abandoned. There were dozens of people at the party, according to the release.
The shooting scene remained active throughout the morning as investigators canvassed for evidence. According to sheriff’s officials, the suspects and the shooting victims were interacting with each other prior to the shooting.
Detectives were interviewing those who were at the party to piece together the crime.
