Fresno police are asking for help identifying the man who robbed an AT&T store on Tulare Street on May 14.

Police are asking for help finding a man they say robbed an AT&T store in southeast Fresno on Tuesday for the second time.

As soon as the store at 3263 E. Tulare St. opened at 9 a.m., the suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his 30s, walked in, police said.

He refused service from an employee, then he was asked to leave when other employees recognized that he had stolen items from the store recently.

Surveillance video shows the man yanking two phones off of their security harnesses just as he was about to leave the store, then throwing one at the security guard.

The guard pepper sprayed him as the robber. But the man blocked most of it and began fighting with the guard outside of the store for the cell phone, police said.

Then the robber ran through an alley behind the business.

He is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a thin build and acne scars on his cheek. He was wearing a light blue hat with a white design, a black and white plaid long-sleeved shirt, black jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Fresno police at 559-621-7000.
