Man slain at Fresno County wedding shooting identified
A man gunned at a Fresno County wedding reception Saturday night was identified Monday as Reynaldo Alonso Franco, 36, of Madera.
The shooting took place about 10 p.m. in the 2600 block of South Marks Avenue, according to sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti.
Deputies arrived at the outdoor reception area where they encountered guests, including adults and children, leaving in vehicles. Deputies and emergency personnel treated Franco, but he died at the scene.
Detectives believe there were as many 300 people at the reception and would like to speak with anyone who was there. They don’t think the shooting was random. Also sought are any pictures or videos taken at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call detective Adam Maldonado at 559-600-8208 or Crime Stoppers at 559-498-7867.
