Report of a man armed with a shotgun turned out to be an intoxicated man with a BB gun
A report of a man walking down a southwest Fresno street armed with a shotgun sent Fresno police scrambling Monday morning, but the suspect turned out to be a highly inebriated man with a BB gun in his pants, Sgt. Pete Boyer said.
Officers were alerted just before noon that the man was near South Modoc Street and East O’Neill Avenue. Boyer said that an officer quickly spotted the stumbling suspect and the apparent weapon, detained him and recovered the weapon.
The report of someone roaming the streets with a weapon struck a chord in the city just weeks after police arrested Kori Ali Muhammad following a shooting spree in which four men were killed.
