A man is being charged with murder after allegedly stabbing another man to death Monday in central Fresno, the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office said.

Rahzak Rameel James, 40, of Fresno, is charged with murdering 54-year-old Joseph Haynie. Haynie was found in the 4900 block of North Holt Avenue with a stab wound and later died at Community Regional Medical Center.

The Attorney’s Office said James has one strike and was sentenced to prison in 2012 for assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and stalking.

He is scheduled for arraignment at the Fresno County Superior Court on Sept. 26 and faces life in prison if convicted.
