Road closure coming in Old Town Clovis for annual event. See when and where
Pollasky Avenue in Old Town Clovis will be closed temporarily on Thanksgiving as the annual Turkey Run returns to Clovis.
Located in the heart of Old Town, Pollasky from Sierra to Shaw avenues will be closed from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26 for the third annual Clovis Turkey Day Run event, according to the event schedule the city council adopted Monday.
Impact to downtown Clovis is expected to be minimal with nearly all businesses closed for the holiday, according to the city document.
The 5K run event is expected to draw a crowd of 3,000, contributing to an estimated 500,000 people who attend various events in Clovis annually.
Parking will be provided at the rodeo grounds.
Registration for the run is open at www.ClovisTurkeyDayRun.com.
The event will also raise funds to support Central California Food Bank and Central Valley Blue Star Moms, according to the event application.
