A pedestrian was killed Monday night after being struck by a motorcycle in Fresno.

Officers responded around 9:30 p.m.to a reported motorcycle-versus-pedestrian collision near the intersection of Maple and Garland avenues, south of Dakota Avenue.

When they arrived, they found the motorcycle rider and pedestrian both in the road.

On Tuesday, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Rosenda Ibarra, 55, of Fresno.

Fresno Police Lt. Zeb Price said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Price added the woman lost a foot as a result of the crash.

The motorcyclist suffered injuries and received first aid at the scene before being taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.

Price said it appears the motorcyclist was traveling north on Maple at the time of the collision.

The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit was assigned to investigate
