An investigation is underway after a large pile of donations at a Fresno thrift store caught on fire Thursday morning.

The Fresno Fire Department responded to the blaze at 11:45 a.m. at the Mission Thrift Store on Sierra Avenue near Blackstone Avenue and Clark Street.

The fire also spread to nearby storage units, but the main store was not affected, fire officials said.

Fresno Fire spokesperson Joshua Sellers said the fire was contained to the large pile of donations.

Sellers said people would drive up and drop off various items as workers sort through the donations.

It’s unclear if anyone was outside when the fire started.

Fire crews were still on scene to make sure there were no flare ups.

The store is expected to remain closed for the rest of the day.
