Motorcyclist killed after going into Fresno canal after collision, police say

A man was killed Friday night after his motorcycle ended up in a Fresno canal after a collision.

Officers responded to the crash just before 9:30 a.m. at Maroa and Fedora avenues.

The Fresno Fire Department water and rescue team went into the water and located the victim.

He was pulled out of the canal and was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A woman driving in a truck with a man is cooperating with officers, Fresno police Lt. Marcus Gray II said.

“Right now we don’t have information on whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.” Gray said. “

The identity and age of the victim is pending next of kin.
