The teenager on a bicycle who was killed in a collision Tuesday night with a vehicle is a Clark Intermediate School student.

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday identified the victim as Agamjodh Singh Cheema, 13, of Clovis.

Clovis Police spokesperson Ty Wood said the collision happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Bullard Avenue, west of Temperance Avenue, between the residential streets of Pistachio and Arroyo.

Police said a woman was driving a Toyota Camry going west on Bullard and the teanage boy was also traveling in the same direction riding a mountain-style bicycle when at some point they collided.

The collision caused extensive injuries to Cheema, who was pronounced dead.

Clovis Unified sent out a statement saying Cheema “was a beloved member of our student community and well-liked by his peers, teachers and coaches. He participated in honors classes, and on our wrestling, football and volleyball teams.”

Clovis Unified said Cheema was in eighth grade.

“Our Clark Intermediate team is grieving news that the youth killed in a biking accident at Bullard and Armstrong avenues in Clovis yesterday evening was one of our students. Many of our students learned of this loss through their personal social networks overnight and our crisis response team was on site this morning prepared with resources to assist in navigating this tragedy in our community. We have also shared resources with parents to help in supporting their students at home during this time.

“An additional support team was on site at the elementary school he attended as the team at Cedarwood Elementary also grieves the passing of one of their long-time students. School communities are a close-knit family so this news hits hard for our staff and our students and we are pulling together to support one another and Agamjodh’s family and siblings in the district. “

An open house at Clark that had been scheduled for Wednesday night was was postponed to a yet-to-be-determined date, Clovis Unified spokesperson Kelly Avants said.
