Update: 40-year-old Reedley man ID’d in fatal crash into large tree in Fresno County

A man was killed early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Fresno County.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 3:15 a.m. on Academy Avenue south of Bullard Avenue. The driver was traveling south in an Audi SUV when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a large tree on the east side of the road.

CHP said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was identified as 40-year-old Jesus Cuevas, of Reedley.

DUI may be a factor to the collision pending toxicology results, CHP said.
