The state of California is hiring employees in Fresno County for full-time positions ranging from legal work to nursing and engineering.

Bilingual outreach analyst | Permanent, full time

  • Department: Industrial Relations
  • Salary: $5,855 to $7,327 per month


  • The outreach analyst develops outreach materials and collaborates with enforcement programs to establish strategic goals for high-profile outreach campaigns for under-served and vulnerable worker populations, strategic industries and other industries where specific mandates exist.


    The outreach analyst acts as a subject matter expert within the division to disseminate information to a broad audience, including under-served and vulnerable worker populations, worker- and employer community-based organizations and other key stakeholders throughout California.

    Certified nursing assistant | Permanent, full time

    • Department: Veterans Affairs
    • Salary: $3,370 to $4,529 per month

    The certified nursing assistant works in the skilled nursing and memory care units of the Veterans Home of California in Fresno and is responsible for providing care and tending to the physical needs of the residents.

    Clinical social worker | Permanent, full time

    • Department: Correctional Health Care Services
    • Salary: 8,425 to $10,261 per month

    The clinical social worker conducts assessments and summarizes case information to use in diagnosis, treatment and dispositional release.

    Other duties include diagnosing patients and developing, monitoring and modifing treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.

    The clinical social worker also provides assessments, group therapy and collateral conferences; documents and evaluates patients’ progress in treatment, and coordinates placement with community resources and the classification and parole representative.

  • The dentist is responsible for the delivery of dental care, including preventive care, to patients at a state correctional facility.

    The dentist participates in performance management activities to continuously improve the Incarcerated Dental Services Program.

    • Salary: $4,203 to $5,426 per month

    The program technician is primarily responsible for responding to audit-related inquiries and processing the most complex support work on difficult or multifaceted issues in regard to employment taxes, working in an out-stationed office or a headquarters setting.

    The program technician also ensures compliance with laws, regulations and policies and assists taxpayers in complying with the laws.

    Other duties include ensuring voluntary compliance with employment taxes and acting as a lead person for program support staff.

    The program technician may be called upon to train staff in any of the duties within their expertise.

    Research data specialist | Permanent, full time

    • Department: Transportation

    The research data specialist’s main job is to design spatial applications using the department’s geospatial analytical tools to deliver processes and products that solve complex problems, and provide information to management.

    The research data special also oversees other products developed by peers and provide support and data for other staff to complete their duties.

    Other duties include developing and utilizing methodology and techniques where precedents are lacking and a sparse body of knowledge exists.

    • Salary: $24,755 to $31,739 per month

    The senior psychiatrist is responsible for providing direct assistance to correctional and rehabilitation institutions.

    This includes the identification and removal of obstacles to providing psychiatric services, identification and monitoring of corrective action plans, and participation in quality management processes.

    With a focus on court-ordered directives, the senior psychiatrist works to make improvements in productivity and quality of care, providing guidance and consultation to the institutions. Statewide travel is required with this position.

  • Department: Transportation
