Senior agricultural/standards specialist | Permanent, full time

  • Department: Agriculture
  • Salary: $71,188 to $90,870 per year

The agricultural/standards specialist protects Fresno County’s agricultural industry and consumers by performing environmental protection, pest management activities, pest detection and exclusion activities as well as quality and standards inspections of agricultural commodities produced in Fresno County.

Deputy county counsel II | Permanent, full time

  • Department: County Counsel
  • Salary: $90,428 to $115,414 per year

The deputy counsel’s responsibilities may include defending civil litigation brought against the county and handling lawsuits in which the county is the plaintiff.

The deputy also handles code enforcement and related matters, including administrative proceedings, inspection and abatement warrants, as well as lawsuits against private persons for public nuisance or unlawful business practices.

Other assignments may include researching and writing legal advice for clients, advising boards or commissions, as well as drafting ordinances.

The deputy sheriff must perform assignments primarily oriented to patrol, court services and/or special assignments as determined and directed by the sheriff.

That may include sworn law enforcement duties involving protection of the public; maintaining law and order; detecting and preventing crime; investigating and arresting suspects in criminal cases.

Director of general services | Permanent, full time

The director of general services is responsible for centralized support services to county departments, including facilities, purchasing, fleet and security.

The director, who reports to the county administrative officer, formulates broad objectives and policies that carry out the mission of the department and provides administrative direction to division managers regarding the operations of their respective divisions.

Executive assistant | Permanent, full time

  • Department: Behavioral Health
  • Salary: $64,610 to $82,446 per year

The executive assistant will serve as a personal assistant to the director of behavioral health and perform administrative support functions.

The executive assistant may oversee administrative support, business or personnel support functions within the department.

Those include research, analysis, project oversight and coordinating the department’s billing, accounting, purchasing, personnel, payroll and budget preparation functions on behalf of the director.

The identification technician is responsible for fingerprinting, photographing and collecting DNA from inmates; fingerprinting job seekers and the public for background checks, and locating warrants connected with inmates and confirming identity matches.

The senior deputy public guardian supervises, monitors and coordinates the work of staff engaged in investigating the financial, social and medical background of individuals referred for conservatorship under the jurisdiction of the Public Guardian’s Office.

The senior deputy public guardian also manages the personal care and financial assets of conservatees, performing related work as required.
