Will it rain in Fresno on Veterans Day? Here’s the latest forecast for holiday weekend

Rain is in store for Fresno as Veteran Day approaches, according to the National Weather Service.

“A quick-moving weather system is set to bring wet, unsettled weather to the area primarily on Monday,” the weather agency said on X, formerly called Twitter.

Here’s what to expect ahead of the holiday weekend:

What’s in the forecast for Fresno?

Friday is expected to be sunny in Fresno with a high temperature near 70 degrees and calm winds, according to the National Weather Service’s latest forecast.

The low temperature for Friday will be around 44 degrees, the weather service said.

Saturday will be sunny with a high near 69 degrees.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 44 degrees.

Sunny skies are expected on Sunday with a high nearly 69 degrees and an overnight low around 46 degrees.

The weather looks “mostly sunny and dry each day, with warmer than normal temperatures through Saturday (and) increasing clouds on Sunday,” David Spector a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Hanford.

Will it rain on Veterans Day?

On Monday, Veterans Day, there’s a 40% chance of rain on Monday afternoon and evening, Spector said.

Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 69 degrees and an overnight low around 48 degrees.

How much rain will Fresno get?

“Much of the San Joaquin Valley has between a 20% to 30% chance of receiving a 10th of an inch or more of rainfall on Monday night,” the weather service said in an X post.

During the same time, parts of the Sierra Nevada has a 25% to 40% chance of a 10th of an inch or more of “liquid precipitation,” the agency said.

“We’re not expecting a whole lot of precipitation from this (storm),” Spector said. “It looks like most of this storm is mostly going to go to the north of our area, and we’re just going to get a little bit (of rain) if any.”

The Fresno area should dry out by Tuesday morning.

Is more wet weather on the way?

Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 64 and wind gusts as high as 15 mph.

The low will drop to around 43 on Tuesday night as winds calm.

Wednesday will be sunny, with a high near 66 and an overnight low around 46.

More sunshine is expected Thursday, which will have a high near 67.
