A man was killed Sunday night in a multiple-vehicle crash near Woodward Park in Fresno.

Officers with the Fresno Police Department responded to the collision at 9:20 p.m. in the area of Friant and Audubon where they learned that five vehicles had been involved.

Lt. Marcus Gray said a small four-door vehicle ran a red light, heading south on Friant, striking an SUV that was entering the intersection. Three other vehicles that were stopped for the red light were also struck.

A man had serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital where he later died, Gray said. Three other people had complaints of pain.

The intersection was blocked for several hours to investigate the fatal crash.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision, Gray said.
