Pedestrian badly injured in a hit-and-run collision in Fresno County, CHP says

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Friday night in a hit-and-run in Fresno County.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the collision at 7:05 p.m. at Temperance Avenue, north of North Avenue.

CHP spokesman Mike Salas said the 46-year-old woman was struck on the shoulder of Temperance Avenue. The unknown vehicle and driver fled the scene.

The woman was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, Salas said.

Her condition is unknown.

The roadway was expected to be closed for another hour.
