A motorcyclist killed Monday evening in a collision in east-central Fresno was identified Tuesday by the Fresno County Coroner.

The collision took place about 6:30 p.m. on North Chestnut Avenue at East Weldon Avenue, where the motorcyclist, Jesus Moreno, 29, of Fresno collided with an SUV.

Police reported that the driver of the Toyota SUV was southbound on Chestnut and making a left turn onto Weldon when he collided with Moreno, who was northbound on Chestnut, said Lt. Leslie Williams. He died at the scene, despite receiving CPR from first responders.

There is no stop sign for Chestnut at the intersection.
