The two people killed from Monday’s house fire in Fresno were a grandmother and a grandson, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
Jimmie Hampton, 84, and Rodney Hampton, 58, were both identified Tuesday as the two who died from the house fire that occurred on Strother Avenue east of Thorne Avenue.
Jimmie Hampton is the grandmother to Rodney Hampton, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
Firefighters were called about 6:45 a.m., with crew quickly discovering fire throughout the house from a back bedroom up to the front door.
A fire alarm was sounding when firefighters arrived, but it was not immediately clear if the home had smoke detectors.
