One person was killed and a second was critically injured after a collision Wednesday on southbound Clovis Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The 5:44 p.m. crash took place on southbound Clovis at American Avenue, where a Honda Accord collided with an Isuzu box truck, according to the CHP.
It was unclear how the collision occurred.
But the box truck came to rest on top of the Honda, killing a passenger in the sedan at the scene, according to preliminary information.
CHP spokesman Mike Salas said the Honda driver was in critical condition.
The CHP closed all lanes of southbound Clovis for the investigation and the left lane of northbound Clovis was also shut down.
