Man riding skateboard struck and killed by vehicle in Fresno County, CHP says

A man on a skateboard was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday evening in Fresno County.

The California Highway Patrol said the collision happened just before 7:30 p.m. at Highway 43 and East Conejo Avenue, about four miles west of Kingsburg.

And a CHP officer was at the scene at the time and witnessed the fatal collision.

CHP spokesman Mike Salas said a Dodge sedan was traveling southbound on Highway 43 when the man on the skateboard was on Conejo Avenue went across the highway and directly into the path of the vehicle.

The man, described to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, Salas said.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the collision.
