Fresno County man sentenced for fatally stabbing his wife in domestic dispute

A Fresno County man was sentenced to 26 years to life Thursday for stabbing his wife to death as she slept in their bed.

Rafael Reynosa, 34, of Huron, recently pleaded no contest to first-degree murder for the May 28 death of wife, 34-year-old Bianca Reynosa, also of Huron.

Fresno County Sheriff’s Department discovered Bianca Reynosa after responding to a call of a possible domestic violence incident at a Huron apartment.

Deputies found the 34-year-old mother of four unconscious and suffering from a knife wound to her neck.

Reynosa told detectives his wife was sleeping in the couple’s bedroom when he stabbed her in the neck and then stabbed himself multiple times. Their four children were home during violent attack.

Emergency Medical Services transported Reynosa to a hospital, where he was treated with minor stab wounds. Bianca Reynosa died as a result of her wounds.

Prosecuting the case was David Olmos, senior deputy district attorney. Reynosa was defended by Dennis Yamada with the Fresno County Public Defender’s Office.
