Update: Firefighters build bulldozer line around Fire burning near Pine Flat Lake

Teams from CalFire assisting Sierra National Forrest firefighters east of Pine Flat Lake established a fire line around a blaze that erupted Tuesday afternoon..

The Cotton Fire was reported about 2 p.m. near Summit Ridge.

Sarah Gracey, a spokeswoman for the Forest Service, estimated the size of the blaze at five to seven acres, and said two engines were on scene and that three other engines, three helicopters and three fixed wing craft were also sent to the area.

By 5 p.m., Gracey said the fire line was completed, and the blaze was 25 percent controlled.
