A man was pulled from the water at Millerton Lake Sunday afternoon, according to a park ranger.

The incident happened at 3:50 p.m. near the Boat Ramp 1 area on the Fresno County side.

A 25-year-old man was pulled from the water after several minutes by good Samaritans, Millerton Lake Supervising Ranger Steve Barber said.

The state park lifeguard arrived on scene and conducted CPR before state park rangers, lifeguards and Cal Fire resumed CPR for about 15 minutes on the shoreline, Barber said.

The man was taken to St. Agnes Medical Center where his condition is not known.

Barber said the man was with friends.

“The incident occurred at an unguarded swim beach,” Barber said. “The victim was not wearing a life-jacket. The status of the swimming abilities are to be determined and we do not know if alcohol was a factor.”
